Day 3

The day shone clear and bright. Shamus and Val trudged down to reception grudgingly. Both not wanting to end their stay at the Settlesand Inn. It had been a wild night of passion and tenderness. Neither wanted to voice their reluctance at leaving. Val dropped his bag by the desk as Shamus came up behind him. Smiling, Val nudged Shamus, blowing him a kiss. Shamus grinned at him, leaning into his side. Darren came out of the back, saw who it was, and his face split into a wide grin.

“Well if it isn’t my favorite two men. All set?” Shamus tore his gaze from Val’s.

“Yeah Darren. We have to book out of here to make it to Newburyport. We have the christening at 2 PM. I figured that if we leave at 7 AM, we should get there with plenty of time.”

“Good! I hope you two enjoyed your stay.”

Val chuckled devilishly. “Oh that we did.” He smirked at Shamus who burst into giggles.

Darren’s baritone laugh filled the little reception hall. “Glad to know.” He rang them up and handed the bill to Shamus who paid it. Shamus handed the folded borrowed clothes back to Darren.

“Thank Jake for the loan of the clothes.”

“Our pleasure Shamus. It was a nice having you stay with us. Drive safe you two.” Val and Shamus shook his hand. Bundling up, the two waved one last time to Darren. Opening the front door they dashed to the jeep.
